Bee Keeping in the Apiary. Great for children and adults. Open-hive beekeeping demonstrations in fully protected beekeepers’ suits provided to fit all ages. Sponsored by Dumpton School.
Tree Climbing: Challenge yourself by climbing, surfing and zipping in a huge plane tree using ropes and harnesses with The Great Big Tree Climbing Company.
Vintage Punch and Judy Puppet Show.
Falconry displays. Sponsored by Prichard Stockbrockers Ltd: Exciting and humerous displays involving the audience from children to grandparents. Come and join the Falconhigh team and get hands-on and up close to some magnificent birds of prey for a truly memorable experience not to be missed. Two demonstrations daily, timings will appear here shortly.
Archery. Sponsored by Christopher Batten Independent Property Agent: Experience the thrill of field archery. Just turn up and have a go with our experienced intructors from Birds Hill Days Country Activities.
Chocolate Workshops for all the family. Run by award winning Dorset Chocolate Company, Chococo and sponsored by Salamander Cookshop. Saturday at 11.00am, 12.30pm, 2.00pm and 3.30pm, Sunday at 11.00am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm.
Cooking Pasta with Anna Del Conte at 12.00 noon on Sunday 18th September in the Chocolate Workshops Tent. Come and watch whilst Anna cooks with our 4 competition winners.
Treasure Trails Dorset. Sponsored by The Thimble Inn: A great activity for the whole family. Explore the show and hunt for the clues. Treasure maps will be handed out as you arrive.
Ferret Racing: Come and watch ferret racing with Kingston Maurward College.
And finally… She’s big, She’s beautiful, She’s Milly – the Blackmore Vale Dairy Cow. Come and squeeze her udders and experience milking the old fashioned way. In a time when children think milk comes from a tetrapack, Milly is there to educate and amuse – located next to the cheese tent.
